If you’re having trouble establishing or maintaining peace
in your life, you’re not alone. It’s not
an easy thing to do, as we learn in this chapter. Once the Lamanites were removed from the
vicinity of Zarahemla, the battle for peace was only half over. The threat that remained was the
stiffneckedness, or stubbornness, of the people. Overcoming that and establishing peace
required labor “with all the might of [the] body and the faculty of [the] whole
soul” on behalf of King Benjamin and the many prophets serving at that time among
the people. Stubbornness can severely
diminish peace. We would do well to
remember that.
