Mosiah 2

The Book of Mormon often teaches that if we follow the Lord’s commandments, we’ll prosper.  This chapter lists several ways to prosper: 

1.  Pull your own weight – King Benjamin worked with his own hands rather than have his people   support him.
2.   Serve one another – see verse 17.
3.  Thank God and recognize your dependence on Him – see verses 19 – 26.  
4.  Keep the commandments – see verse 22.
5.  Watch carefully to avoid contentions, which are inspired by the evil spirit – see verse 32.
6.  Learn from the mistakes, and the successes, of others – see verses 40 – 41.
