If the adversary can’t compel us to commit sin, the next
best thing he can do is to convince us to omit righteousness. Either is a great tool he can use to riddle
us with guilt over our shortcomings.
Guilt is a debilitator. It holds
us back from serving the Lord. How do we
rid ourselves of guilt? Why not try it
the way these Anti-Nephi-Lehies (converted Lamanites) did? At the end of verse 10 they teach us “He hath
taken away the guilt from our hearts through the merits of his Son.” Once again, Jesus Christ is the answer.
